OTTUMWA, Iowa — A southeast Iowa man completed an ultra-marathon from Oskaloosa to Ottumwa and back in the same day.

This marathon aims to spread awareness about childhood cancer and raise money for research.

Keven Hempel, of Oskaloosa, started his run Saturday with a goal of raising $100,000.

KTVO spoke with Hempel ahead of his run and asked what inspired him to do this footrace.
