RADNOR — Radnor Middle School students raised over $119,000 on March 3 in support of the Four Diamonds fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital during the school’s sixth annual Mini-THON.

This year’s event involved about 480 students and staff members who danced late into the night in the fight against pediatric cancer. Since the school started hosting a Mini-THON six years ago, it has raised over $500,000 for the cause.

Mini-THON is modeled after Penn State’s dance marathon, THON, and Radnor Middle is one of over 200 schools that host a Mini-THON.

School officials say the events provide leadership opportunities for students to learn about event management and philanthropy. The Radnor Mini-THON leadership committee includes more than 20 student leaders in seventh and eighth grade, mentored by 12 staff members.
