Corky’s Homestyle Kitchen & Bakery raised $32,940.39 for Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH) during its 9th Cookies for Cancer fundraiser in September, held in honor of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. The funds go towards equipment and activities for pediatric patients.

Throughout the month-long fundraiser, all Southern California Corky’s locations encouraged guests to purchase a special gold ribbon cookie, with the gold ribbon symbolizing childhood cancer awareness. This year’s campaign also featured 165 pounds of gold dust used to decorate the cookies.

“Corky’s generosity year after year has made a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families facing pediatric cancer,” said Peter Baker, senior vice president and administrator of Children’s Hospital. “Their support helps us provide advanced treatments like gene therapy for leukemia patients and other life-saving care. We deeply appreciate the Corky’s team and the entire community for their commitment to helping us offer the best care possible.”

Corky’s donated $1 for each of the 27,967 gold ribbon cookies sold and 25 cents for the 8,928 other cookies, such as chocolate chip and Snickerdoodle. This year’s fundraiser brought Corky’s total donations to over $187,337.95 in the past nine years.
